August Anthony Alsina Jr. (born September 3, 1992) was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States and raised by his mother and stepfather after his biological father was shot and killed when he was just a child. He is an American singer, songwriter and record producer, He is professionally known as August Alsina.

Alsina grew up in a rough neighborhood and turned to music as a form of escape. He began uploading his music to YouTube and gained a following, which eventually led to him signing a record deal with Def Jam Recordings in 2007.

Alsina released his first mixtape, "The Product," in 2012, which was followed by "The Product 2" in 2013. His breakthrough came in 2014 with the release of his debut studio album, "Testimony," which debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 and featured the hit singles "I Luv This ѕh¡t" and "No Love."
