David Adedeji Adeleke (born November 21, 1992) was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer, who has risen to fame with his unique blend of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and pop music. He is professionally known as Davido.

Davido spent his childhood in Lagos, Nigeria, where he developed a passion for music. He made his debut in the music industry as a member of the group KB International, but it wasn't until the release of his second single, "Dami Duro," that he gained widespread recognition.

Davido's debut studio album, Omo Baba Olowo (2012), was a massive success, spawning hits such as "Back When," "Ekuro," "Overseas," "All of You," "Gbon Gbon," and "Feel Alright." In 2012, he won the Next Rated award at The Headies, cementing his status as one of Nigeria's most promising artists.

Over the next few years, Davido continued to release hit after hit, including "Gobe," "One of a Kind," "Skelewu," "Aye," "Tchelete (Goodlife)," "Naughty," "Owo Ni Koko," "The Sound," and "The Money." In January 2016, he announced on Twitter that he had signed a record deal with Sony Music, which led to the founding of his record label, Davido Music Worldwide. In April 2017, Davido re-negotiated his contract with Sony due to creative control issues and released five singles, including "If" and "Fall." "If" became a social media sensation, while "Fall" made history as the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.

Davido's second studio album, A Good Time, was released in November 2019, featuring previously released singles "If," "Fall," "Assurance," "Blow My Mind," and "Risky." In 2020, he was listed by New African magazine as one of the 100 most influential Africans, and in February 2021, he appeared on Time magazine's Time 100 Next List.

On March 31, 2023, Davido released his fourth studio album, Timeless, further solidifying his status as one of Africa's most successful and influential artists. In addition to his music career, he is also a cultural ambassador for Nigeria and a prominent voice of human rights in Africa.
