Jesús Manuel Nieves Cortés (born April 9, 1993) was born in Río Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. He is professionally known as Jhayco, formerly known as Jhay Cortez. He first made waves in the music scene as part of the Latin pop group Stereo 4 in 2013. Consisting of Jafet Cortes, Eduardo Esteras, Rubén Chinea, and Jesús M. Nieves (Jhayco), Stereo 4 showcased their unique blend of four distinct voices. However, Jhayco eventually embarked on a solo career, collaborating with his former group one last time in 2016 for the track "Te quiero ver."

In 2017, Jhayco signed a contract with Universal Music Latino under the House of Haze movement, in collaboration with producer Fino como el Haze. He released his debut single under this label, titled "Donde no se vea," featuring Jory Boy and Pusho. The following year, Jhayco performed at the SXSW concert, which aimed to support victims of natural disasters. He also played a role in composing Natti Natasha's "Criminal" alongside Ozuna, as well as Yandel's "Mi Religión."

Jhayco's breakthrough came in 2019 with the release of his chart-topping single "No Me Conoce," which achieved triple platinum certification in Spain and 20 platinum certification by the US RIAA. The remix of the song, featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny, further propelled his success. That same year, he collaborated with Karol G on the track "Deseame suerte" and released his debut studio album, "Famouz," which reached number 164 on the US Billboard 200 chart and achieved triple platinum certification by the RIAA.

In 2020, Jhayco released a special edition of "Famouz" called "Famouz Reloaded," featuring unreleased songs. He also unveiled his single "Dime a ve," which would be part of his second album, "Timelezz." Jhayco received several accolades, including five ASCAP awards for his songwriting and two Tú Música Urbano Awards for Composer of the Year and New Generation Album for "Famouz." He garnered nominations for prestigious awards such as the Billboard Latin Music Awards, Premios Juventud, Lo Nuestro Awards, and the Latin Grammys.

Notably, Jhayco's collaboration with Bad Bunny on the track "Dakiti" became a massive hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Global 200 charts and peaking at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. In late 2020, he also lent his talents to the remix of Jay Wheeler and Myke Towers' "La Curiosidad" and appeared on Yandel's album "Quien Contra Mí 2" on the track "Ponme al día."

In early 2021, Jhayco collaborated with Wisin on Los Legendarios' production "Fiel," which achieved global success, reaching number nine on the Spotify music platform. He also performed "Dakiti" alongside Bad Bunny at the Grammy Awards ceremony in March. Jhayco's accomplishments earned him another nomination at the iHeartRadio Music Awards for Latin Pop/Reggaeton Song of the Year with "Dakiti."
