Marcus Oliver Johnstone Mumford (born January 31, 1987) was born in Yorba Linda, California, United States. Mumford's family moved back to the UK when Marcus was six months old. He grew up on Chatsworth Avenue in Wimbledon Chase, southwest London. He is a British singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He is professionally known as Marcus Mumford.
He gained widespread recognition as the lead singer of the acclaimed folk band Mumford & Sons. Renowned for his soulful vocals and raw talent, Mumford is also proficient in playing various instruments, including the guitar, drums, and mandolin. Notably, he is married to the esteemed English actress Carey Mulligan.
