Quincy Matthew Hanley (born August 8, 1997) was born in Wiesbaden, West Germany. He is an American rapper. He is professionally known as Schoolboy Q. He rose to prominence in the late 2000s after signing with independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).

Hanley's early music releases included a mixtape called ScHoolboy Turned Hustla in 2008, followed by Gangsta & Soul in 2009. He gained further recognition in 2011 with his first independent album, Setbacks, which reached number 100 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

In 2012, Hanley joined forces with his TDE label-mates Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Kendrick Lamar to form the hip-hop supergroup Black Hippy.
