The Script, an Irish rock band, originated in Dublin in 2001. Comprising of lead vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist Danny O'Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power, the band quickly gained popularity in their home country before moving to London to sign with the Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic.

The Script's debut album, self-titled "The Script," was released in August 2008, with the debut single "We Cry" gaining significant attention. The album featured other popular singles such as "The Man Who Can't Be Moved," "Breakeven," and "Before the Worst." The album was a commercial success, topping the charts in both Ireland and the UK.

Their following three albums, "Science & Faith" (2010), "#3" (2012), and "No Sound Without Silence" (2014), also reached number one on the album charts in Ireland and the UK. "Science & Faith" additionally achieved success in Australia, reaching number two, and in the United States, where it reached number three on the Billboard 200 chart. These albums featured several chart-topping hits such as "For the First Time," "Nothing," "Hall of Fame," and "Superheroes."

The band's fifth studio album, "Freedom Child," was released on 1 September 2017, featuring the UK Top 20 single "Rain." "Sunsets & Full Moons," their sixth studio album, was released on 8 November 2019, featuring the single "The Last Time." The band's success has resulted in a Greatest Hits album released on 1 October 2021.

Apart from their musical success, The Script's music has been featured in popular television programs such as 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, EastEnders, Made in Chelsea, and The Vampire Diaries. Frontman Danny O'Donoghue was also a coach on the UK version of The Voice for the first two seasons before leaving the show to focus on the band.

In recognition of their talent, The Script has won three Meteor Ireland Music Awards and two World Music Awards, with two Brit Award nominations to their credit. The band's popularity continues to grow, and they have sold over 20 million albums worldwide. The Script's unique sound, blending rock and pop with meaningful lyrics, has endeared them to fans across the globe, making them one of the most successful bands to come out of Ireland in recent years.
