Tierra Umi Wilson (born February 9, 1999) was born in Seattle, Washington, United States. She is an American singer and songwriter. She is professionally known as Umi. She began her academic journey at the University of Southern California, her passion for music led her to make a life-altering decision in 2019, when she dropped out to wholeheartedly pursue her musical aspirations.
Umi's breakthrough moment came in 2018 with her mesmerizing track, "Remember Me," which boasts over 140 million streams on Spotify. The song's accompanying music video is a testament to her commitment to inclusivity, portraying couples from diverse racial, class, and sexual backgrounds. Umi emphasized the universality of human emotion, stating, "the message in the video, for me, is that no matter who you love or how you love, we all hurt the same in the end."
