Weezer Lyrics - Discography

145 American Rock Band

"Weezer" is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1992. Comprising Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Patrick Wilson (drums, backing vocals), Brian Bell (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), and Scott Shriner (bass guitar, keyboards, backing vocals) since 2001, the band boasts a remarkable legacy, having sold over 10 million albums in the US and more than 35 million worldwide.

Weezer burst onto the scene with their self-titled debut album, commonly known as the Blue Album, released in May 1994 under Geffen Records. Marked by hits like "Buddy Holly," "Undone – The Sweater Song," and "Say It Ain't So," the Blue Album achieved multiplatinum success and set the stage for the band's enduring influence. The follow-up, Pinkerton (1996), initially faced commercial challenges but eventually garnered cult status and critical acclaim.

After a hiatus post-Pinkerton, Weezer returned in 2001 with the Green Album, introducing bassist Mikey Welsh. The album embraced a pop-oriented sound, propelled by the success of singles like "Hash Pipe" and "Island in the Sun." Subsequent releases such as Maladroit (2002) and Make Believe (2005) showcased the band's evolving sound, with the latter producing the chart-topping "Beverly Hills."

Weezer's discography unfolds with diversity, from the hard-rock vibe of Maladroit to the modern pop leanings of Raditude (2009) and Hurley (2010). Their musical journey continued with the rock-oriented Everything Will Be Alright in the End (2014) and the White Album (2016), blending 90s nostalgia with contemporary alternative production. The Teal Album (2019) featured covers, while the Black Album (2019) and subsequent releases like OK Human (2021) and Van Weezer (2021) showcased the band's versatility. In 2022, Weezer unveiled a series of EPs embracing the thematic elements of the four seasons, further solidifying their enduring presence in the ever-evolving landscape of rock music.
