Choi Young-jae (born September 17, 1996) was born in Mokpo, South Korea. He is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actor. He is professionally known as Youngjae. He is best known as the main vocalist of the immensely popular Korean boy group, Got7.

Choi's passion for singing began in his childhood when he used to sing with his older brother. He continued pursuing his dream of becoming a singer even after his brother enlisted in the military. To hone his skills, he joined a practical music academy in his hometown of Mokpo and worked part-time to support his studies. His dedication and hard work paid off when he won the Vocal Excellence Award at the Mokpo Youth Music Festival in 2011.

In 2013, Choi's talent caught the attention of JYP Entertainment, one of the biggest and most renowned entertainment agencies in South Korea. He successfully auditioned for the agency and became a trainee. Under their guidance, he honed his skills even further and developed his unique style, which would later captivate fans worldwide.
