Bill Kahan Kapri (born June 11, 1997) was born in Pompano Beach, Florida, United States. He is an American rapper. He is professionally known as Kodak Black. whose journey to fame began with the release of his 2014 track "No Flockin." This initial success paved the way for him to sign with Atlantic Records, leading to the commercial re-release of "No Flockin" as his debut single in the subsequent year. Notably, this track marked his entry onto the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 two years later.

The momentum continued with his 2017 single "Tunnel Vision," which achieved considerable success, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100. This was a precursor to the launch of his debut studio album, "Painting Pictures" in the same year, peaking at number three on the Billboard 200 chart. Following this, his commercial mixtape "Project Baby 2" was released, securing the second spot on the chart and spawning the triple platinum-certified single "Roll In Peace" featuring XXXTentacion.

In 2018, Kodak Black reached new heights with his second album, "Dying to Live," which not only topped the Billboard 200 but also produced the hit single "Zeze" featuring Travis Scott and Offset, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning sextuple platinum certification from the RIAA.

However, Kodak Black's career has not been without its challenges. His journey has been marred by legal troubles dating back to his middle school years. In 2016, he faced accusations of rape and later dealt with a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in South Carolina. In 2021, a plea bargain reduced the charge to assault and battery, resulting in a probation sentence. Additionally, in 2019, he was arrested for making false statements to obtain weapons, leading to a nearly four-year federal prison sentence, which was ultimately commuted by then-President Donald Trump in 2021.

Despite these setbacks, Kodak Black's resilience shone through as he released his third album, "Bill Israel," during his incarceration in 2020. His fourth album, "Back for Everything" in 2022, marked a commercial resurgence, especially with the success of the single "Super Gremlin," reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100. His fifth and sixth albums, "Pistolz & Pearlz" and "When I Was Dead," both released in 2023, further solidified his position in the rap scene, showcasing his enduring impact on the music industry.
