Oasis, the legendary English rock band hailing from Manchester, burst onto the music scene in 1991 under the moniker "The Rain." Consisting initially of Liam Gallagher on lead vocals and tambourine, Paul Arthurs on guitar, Paul McGuigan on bass guitar, and Tony McCarroll on drums, the band welcomed Liam's older brother, Noel Gallagher, as lead guitarist and vocalist shortly after formation. Noel quickly assumed leadership and songwriting responsibilities, shaping the band's trajectory across their first four albums.
Signing with Creation Records in 1993, Oasis unleashed their debut album "Definitely Maybe" in 1994, a record-smashing success that not only topped the UK Albums Chart but also became the fastest-selling debut in British music history. The subsequent year saw the release of "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" amidst a highly publicized chart rivalry with fellow Britpop icons, Blur. However, the band's journey abruptly ended in 2009 following Noel Gallagher's departure. Nevertheless, Oasis's impact endures, with over 75 million records sold worldwide, numerous UK and US chart-toppers, and a mantle adorned with accolades including Brit Awards, NME Awards, Q Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards, alongside Grammy nominations.
