Moriah Rose Pereira (born January 1, 1995) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. She is a multifaceted artist who has gained fame as a singer, songwriter, YouTuber, and performance artist. She is professionally known as Poppy. In 2014, Poppy achieved viral success for her surreal performance art videos on YouTube, where she portrayed an android with an uncanny valley-like appearance. In these videos, she satirized and commented on internet culture and modern society, creating a unique brand for herself.

In 2015, Poppy signed a recording contract with Island Records, and in 2016, she released her debut pop EP, Bubblebath. The EP received critical acclaim and established Poppy as an up-and-coming artist in the music industry. In 2017, Poppy signed with Mad Decent and released her debut studio album, Poppy.Computer.
