The group is considered to be a self-producing group, with each member actively participating in songwriting, composing, and other aspects of their music and showmanship.

Purple Kiss began their journey with the release of two pre-debut digital singles. "My Heart Skip a Beat," released in November 2020, showcased the group's vocal prowess and emotional depth. "Can We Talk Again," released in February 2021, further solidified the group's potential with its catchy melody and relatable lyrics.

The group officially debuted on March 15, 2021, with their EP Into Violet.
