Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996) was born in Stavanger, Norway. She is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and record producer. She is professionally known as Aurora. She grew up in the picturesque towns of Høle and Os. Aurora's remarkable journey in the world of music began at the tender age of six when she started crafting her first songs and immersing herself in the art of dance.

Her meteoric rise to fame can be traced back to the early days of her career when some of her compositions gained considerable popularity in Norway after being shared online. This digital recognition paved the way for her to sign recording contracts with renowned labels, including Petroleum Records, Decca, and Glassnote Records, in 2014. The year 2015 marked a pivotal moment in her career with the release of her debut extended play (EP) titled "Running with the Wolves," which featured the sleeper hit "Runaway." Notably, she lent her ethereal vocals to the John Lewis Christmas advert that year, where she delivered a captivating cover of Oasis's "Half the World Away."

Aurora's first full-fledged studio album, "All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend" (2016), garnered widespread acclaim, achieving platinum certification twice in her home country, Norway.
